Neoenergia promotes sustainability and well-being in local communities through educational, environmental and cultural projects.
Neoenergia is committed to creating a positive impact in the communities where it operates, promoting sustainable development and the well-being of local communities close to its projects. Social and environmental actions cover a range of areas, including education, the environment, culture and quality of life.
The initiatives include:
- Sustainable education: Investment in educational programs that promote environmental awareness and skills development in local communities. This includes the formation of environmental education committees and support for sustainable schools.
- Environmental preservation: Commitment to sustainability goals and the UN's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Actions are taken to conserve biodiversity and protect the environment, such as restoring degraded areas.
- Culture and identity: Appreciation of local culture and preservation of the cultural and historical heritage of the regions where Neoenergia operates, including support for cultural initiatives and respect for local traditions.

Kizomba Festival
Find out all about the 2024 edition of the festival, which is a regional tradition and took place in the Sumidouro Quilombola Remnant Community (CRQ). It was two days of reinforcing the identity and culture of the quilombola people, involving capoeira traditions and celebrations of the projects carried out by Neoenergia in the territory.
Community Nursery
Get to know the Community Nursery Project that is strengthening family farming in the Sertão region of Paraíba. The initiative involves 35 families from the Latadinha Community in São José do Sabugi - PB, combining seedling production, environmental recovery and income generation in the semi-arid region.
Friends of the Atlantic Forest Award
In November 2023, Neoenergia received the "Atlantic Forest Friendly Company" award for contributing to the conservation and sustainable use of the Atlantic Forest, through actions to support the actions of the Atlantic Forest Biosphere Reserve - RBMA, linked to UNESCO's MaB (Man and the Biosphere) Program, strengthening its actions in favor of the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the Global Goals for 2050 and directly linked to Iberdrola Group's Biodiversity Policy.
